Rare Iraqi Crimson Silk Scarf – Handwoven with Arab Detailing
This one-of-a-kind silk scarf is a wearable work of art—handwoven in Iraq with intricate Arab-inspired detailing and a striking crimson hue. It was purchased in 2006 from a well-known textile maker (name forgotten, but renowned locally) during my time serving in Iraq as a naval pilot. It has remained one of my most treasured pieces ever since.
Worn once to a U.S. Marine Ball, the scarf has stayed in pristine condition. Made from the finest silk, the fabric flows like water and glows softly in the light. It measures approximately 62 x 22 inches and can be worn as an elegant wrap, styled as a dramatic headscarf, or kept as part of a fine textile collection.
Details:
100% handwoven silk
Approx. 62” L x 22” W
Crimson with Arab-style detailing
Origin: Iraq
Purchased during military service in 2006
Worn once – excellent condition
Carefully pressed and wrapped before shipping
A meaningful, rare, and luxurious piece with a powerful history behind it.
