One-of-a-Kind Brown Silk Couture Dress — Handmade by a Former Chanel Designer
This exquisite, unlabeled couture dress was handmade for me in the early 2000s by a former Chanel designer who left the fashion house to open her own fabric business in New Orleans. Her work is rare and extraordinary—meticulously tailored and deeply personal. Sadly, her entire warehouse was destroyed in Hurricane Katrina. But she continues to sew for me and others, creating one-of-a-kind pieces that are nothing short of breathtaking.
Crafted from a rare combination of satin and silk sourced directly from Tajikistan—one of the world’s finest producers of silk—this dress features a sculptural yet fluid silhouette, with rich brown tones that catch the light and exude warmth. The craftsmanship is impeccable, the movement is elegant, and the overall effect is timeless.
Worn only once with my husband who was and Officer —to a U.S. Marine Corps Ball—this dress carries both history and heart.
Handmade, couture-quality construction
Silk + satin blend from Tajikistan
Designed by a former Chanel couturier
Worn once (Marine Corps Ball) and professionally dry cleaned
Length from chest to floor: 50 inches
Optional: Pair it with the coordinating Iraqi silk scarf, available separate
